Installation error: "Content does not match signature."

    1.4.2_xx



SYMPTOMS

During Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installation, a security warning message box appears with the following message:

The publisher cannot be determined due to problems below:
  Content does not match signature.

SOLUTION

If you encounter this error, you can ignore this message and press the Yes button to continue with the installation.

You can also use Windows Offline installation to install the JRE. Offline installation contains all the files you need. Go to the JRE manual download page and click on Windows Offline Installation to download the file. When prompted, please choose "Save" in the download dialog box, and save the download package in a convenient place (e.g. save on the desktop). Do NOT choose to "Open". Then double click on the downloaded installation file to start the installation process.
