Why did my fonts become blurry after I updated my Java version, and how can I fix this?

SYMPTOMS

After updating the Java version the fonts become blurry.


CAUSE

Drivers for your video card need to be updated.


SOLUTION

  1. Please refer to the manufacturer of your video card, update to the latest version of the drivers for your specific video card.
    For example, to update drivers please visit Update drivers
  2. Disable hardware acceleration feature in Java.
    Follow these steps, to disable hardware acceleration feature :
    1. Open Java Control Panel.
    2. Double click the Java icon.
    3. Click the Java tab.
    4. Click the View button inside Java Applet Runtime Settings.
    5. Add -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false in the Java Runtime Parameter field.
