Why are new releases of Java delayed on the java.com website?The new releases of Java are first made available on the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) website, and a week later is made available on the Java.com website.The new release of Java contains several bug fixes and enhancements. We, at Oracle, intend to give earlier access of this new release to the developer community to ensure no major problems are seen with the release. After a week if the new release is working as intended, we then make this release available to a wider audience at java.com. We think you might also be interested in: |
